House of Representatives gives approval of new budget favoring education and childcare

The Connecticut House of Representatives has approved a new budget, largely favoring education and childcare, with a vote of 127-21. The bill includes over $190 million in education aid, $100 million towards municipal costs, and $300 million towards the childcare endowment. 21 members of the Republican Party opposed the bill, including Minority Leader Vincent Candelora, the lieutenant governor candidate Tim Ackert and the two deputy leaders. The governor is expected to sign the bill.
