Single mom Shemita King, who lives in South Florida, has been struggling to get around due to her long commute and inability to afford a car. She relies on buses to get from Fort Lauderdale to Doral and has to pay nearly $8,000 in less than two years to fix a used car that was too expensive. Yoel Victores, owner of an auto repair shop called Midas Project Spark, coordinated with Advanced Auto Parts to provide reliable transportation for veterans and families in need. The program includes providing free labor for the vehicle and providing replacement parts. After the work, King was given a refurbished Subaru Impreza and is now owns a new car.
