The Democratic Party in Illinois went nowhere in six primary races, with six candidates aligned with the far-left legislative "Squad" losing 0-6. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) praised the victories, stating that being endorsed by far-Left politicians was a "kiss of death" in Illinois. The most significant loss was the loss of Kat Abughazaleh to Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss in the 9th Congressional District, who held similar stances to those of Biss and Biss. The remaining candidates targeted by AIPAC included activist Kina Collins in the 7th District, tech businessman Junaid Ahmed, and Village of Hanover Park Trustee Yasmeen Bankole in the 8th District. In the 8't District, former Rep. Melissa Bean (D-Ill.), won by 5.1 percentage points over Ahmed, who was backed by AIAPAC. In other races, Illinois Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton defeated the moderate Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi in the Democratic Senate primary and Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller edged out ex-Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. in the 2nd district.
