Wichita voters rejected a proposed 1% sales tax increase in the Tuesday election, with 41,097 voting against the measure and 9,143 voting in favor. The proposal was proposed by Wichita Forward and the Vote Yes Campaign to streamline funding for first responders, homelessness initiatives, and the renovation of Century II.
