The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has requested that the release of Francisco Mendez-Marin, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, who is accused of murdering his wife, 20-year-old Karla Rangel, during a domestic dispute. The couple had been married less than a month prior to the murder. When police arrived at the scene, Mendegan had blood on his clothes and a bloody pocketknife on him. The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has issued a detainer.
