OpenAI, a prominent AI company, has been secretly funded by the company for its involvement in child safety advocacy groups such as the Parents and Kids Safe AI Coalition. The coalition, which was formed to push for the implementation of a bill that would require AI firms to implement age verification and additional safeguards for users under the age of 18, was backed by OpenAI in partnership with Common Sense Media. However, when the coalition began reaching out to child safety groups and advocacy organizations, OpenAI was left out of the messaging and marketing on the coalition's website.
