The US government is appealing a Massachusetts federal judge's decision to block Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s overhaul of the nation’�s childhood vaccine schedule, which reduced the number of recommended diseases to be vaccinated against from 18 to 11, was put on hold by Judge Brian Murphy from March 16. The American Academy of Pediatrics (A) and other medical groups argued that the changes violated federal law. The Department of Health and Human Services has appealed the ruling, stating that the appointment of 13 committee members was stayed, nullifying their positions and any votes. The case could eventually reach the Supreme Court.
