Indiana Supreme Court upholds life without parole conviction in 2023 murder case

Anthony Wayne Carter was convicted of murdering his girlfriend, Ashley Neville, in 2023. The Attorney General's appeals team successfully argued to uphold his conviction and life without parole sentence. The court found that Carter intentionally killed Neville by covering her head with a plastic bag and smothering her. The case was dismissed by the court, with no vehicles being found at the scene.
