Hollywood is suggesting that this deal could set a bad precedent for Hollywood. The New York Post reports that CNN staffers are “freaking out” about the potential fallout from this mega deal. Despite this, CNN's CEO Mark Thompson had to send a memo to calm some nerves behind the scenes to calm them down. The company's credibility crisis and ongoing struggles with self-inflicted credibility wounds and a brand identity crisis have led to a significant decline in its brand.
