Kirkwood school board chair Shurn honored at reception

Nikole Shurn, the first Black woman to serve as chair of the Kirkwood School District, was honored at a recent reception for outgoing board members. Shurn was first elected in 2020 and served as board vice president before being re-elected in 2023. She holds a bachelors degree in business marketing and master's degrees in journalism.
