The history of the Oscars at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, California, has been documented. The first Academy Awards were held at the hotel in 1929, with the cost of $5 to eat at the event being $90. The ballroom at the time was attended by 270 people and was the only Oscars not on television or radio. The hotel also served as a set for both television and movies, with episodes of "I Love Lucy" and "Catch Me If You Can" being filmed there. The most famous hotel guest was Norma Jeane, who later became Marilyn Monroe, who lived there from 1950 to 1952. There is speculation that the hotel may receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for its 100th anniversary.
