Jill Hennessy, a prominent actress in Law & Order, revealed that she made money busking in the Toronto subway as a teenager. She was approached by two police officers who initially thought she had a permit to perform, but they let her continue playing. Hennessesy bought a cheap guitar and taught herself to play and learned to play from an Indigo Girls songbook. She later joined the show in season four as Assistant District Attorney Claire Kincaid and also appeared on Crossing Jordan for six seasons.
