The essay, which detailed the difficulty of receiving a breast cancer diagnoses while her parents were battling terminal illnesses, was published by The New York Times. Peet also revealed that after losing her father and nearing losing her mother, she learned that her cancer was not as serious of a diagnosis as she feared.
