A series of violent incidents occurred over 700 miles apart, including a deadly shooting at Virginia's Old Dominion University and a targeted vehicle-ramming attack on a Michigan synagogue. The shooter, a convicted ISIS supporter, killed one person and injured two others before being subdued by students. The Temple Israel synagogue in West Bloomfield Township was targeted by a US citizen who was born in Lebanon and had been on high alert for potential violence in the weeks leading up to the attack.
