The Cardinals' shortstop, Masyn Winn, was involved in a car accident just hours after his walk-off hit against the Mets, but his vehicle was left severely damaged. The accident occurred on Interstate 64 near St. Louis and was caused by wet pavement. Winn was taken to a hospital for an evaluation but did not suffer any serious injuries. The incident occurred shortly after Winn led the Cardinals to a 2-1 win over the Mets.
