Yorkville Christian High School senior Jayden Riley's game-winning shot in the final minute secured a 50-44 victory over Pontiac in the Class 2A Seneca Sectional semifinal, sending Yorkville Christian to a sectional final. Riley, an SIU-Edwardsville recruit, scored 28 points, seven rebounds and three assists in the game. Despite Pontiac's Ben Melchers' 3-pointer to put them level at 44-44 with 1:48 left after Yorkville had led by five points. The Mustangs overcame deficits of seven points in the second quarter and five in the third to secure a place in the Sectional final for the third time in school history, their third time since winning the Class 1A state championship in 2022.
