Nola's rough middle stretch extends trouble for Phils

The Phillies lost their series opener against Chicago, with manager Rob Thomson stating that the team needs to be more efficient in their next game. Starting pitcher Aaron Nola initially seemed promising, but his performance was inconsistent throughout the game. Nola was unable to control the game and ended up allowing five runs in four innings, leaving the team with a five-run deficit. Chicago won 5-1 and pushed the Phillies to their sixth consecutive loss. The game was also marked by numerous defensive plays by Chicago's defense.
