Rosanna Arquette has written an open letter defending Harvey Weinstein's comments in a jailhouse interview with The Hollywood Reporter. The interview, conducted last January at Riker’s Island, was prompted by the magazine's editor-in-chief, Maer Roshan, who asked Weinstein to respond to claims that he had professionally blackballed women who resisted his advances. Weinstein, who is currently facing a retrial on a remaining assault charge in New York, denied these charges. In her letter, Arquett also addressed the conditions at Rikers Island, where Weinstein is being held, calling it "horrible" and suggesting that the prison should be shut down. She urged Weinstein to be transferred to a more humane prison for the human rights of all prisoners.
