Susuuka Chinzei, a 27-year-old member of the pop idol group Fruits Zipper, has broken her self-imposed acting ban to play her first solo lead role in a new horror film by genre master Takashi Shimizu. The film, "Dareka-san to Asobo?" (Who Wants to Play?), is directed by Shimizu and centers on a fatal urban legend: anyone whose name and date are recorded on a cassette tape on the 13th step of an empty school staircase is doomed to die. Chinzee, who previously hated acting, found herself captivated by Shimiz's flexible directing style and bonded with younger cast members like 16-year old Anna Hoshino. The dark tone of the film has also influenced Fruits' music.
