A New York man, Gary Conyers, has been convicted of sexual assault for forcing six women, who were addicted to drugs and living in poverty, to perform oral sex on him at knifepoint. Conyers was convicted of eight counts of predatory sexual assault, seven counts of first-degree criminal sexual act and sexual abuse, as well as two counts of second-degree assault, and one count of strangulation. The crimes took place in Patchogue. The Suffolk County District Attorney, Ray Tierney, described Conyers' actions as "predatory, deliberate," devoid of regard for human dignity".
