Italian driver Kimi Antonelli, currently the current leader in the 2026 drivers’ standings for Mercedes, is eager to win the title in only his second season in Formula One. His debut season in 2025, at 18 years and 224 days old, he became the youngest driver to lead a race and the youngest to set the fastest ever lap (1:30.965 seconds). He has also been the youngest Grand Prix Pole Sitter (19 years, 6 months, and 17 days), and the second youngest race winner (18 years and 228 days old). Despite a disappointing seventh-place finish in his rookie campaign, Antoneelli hopes to improve upon his performance in year two of his F1 career in Miami. He also credits his support from his family and Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff.
