Wichita City Council extends ICT-1 behavioral health team agreement

The Wichita City Council has extended its agreement with Sedgwick County to fund the ICT One team, which provides resources for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. The agreement was first approved in 2023 and since then, over half of these individuals have been treated in place, reducing the time officers spend on behavioral health activities. The city reimbursizes Community Care of Sedgwish for salary and other employment expenses. The anticipated costs for the next year of the Ict One contract are included in the police department budget.
