Aces again lose a rookie in WNBA expansion draft as Aaliyah Nye departs

Aaliyah Nye was selected by Toronto Tempo in the WNBA expansion draft, marking the second time the Las Vegas Aces have lost a rookie in the expansion draft in 2024. This comes after another rookie was selected in the Golden State Valkyries' 2024 expansion draft. Nye, who was the No. 13 pick in the 2025 WNBA draft out of Alabama, earned praise from Aces coach Becky Hammon and four-time MVP A’ja Wilson for her sharp 3-point shooting. The Tempo will join the Portland Fire as the league's incoming teams next season.
