CDC: Measles cases surge six times higher than expected for an entire year

In 27 states, more than 1,100 measles cases have been reported, six times higher than expected for an entire year. Most of the confirmed cases are in people aged 5 to 19. With spring break looming, doctors are expecting more cases. The American Academy of Family Physicians warns that symptoms can increase as a result of increased illness.
