The New Jersey Department of Education has revealed that state aid for the 2026-27 budget includes $12.4 billion for the state's 574 public school districts, with 167 of these districts seeing reductions. This is a 2% decrease from the current allocation. The district received $47,861,927 for 2025-26, a decrease of $782,957 from the previous year's total of $48,644,884. Under the school funding formula, equalization aid is based on a difference between a district's adequacy budget and its local cost share, which is what the state covers.
