UPS beats Wall Street estimates on top and bottom lines

The United States Postal Service (PS) has reported a strong first-quarter earnings results, beating both the top and bottom lines. The company reported a net income of $864 million, or $1.02 per share, compared to $990 million the previous year. This is expected to be followed by a return to consolidated revenue and operating profit growth in the second half of the year. For the full-year outlook, the company remains unchanged at $89.7 billion in revenue and a 9.6% non-GAAP adjusted operating margin.
