The world's first safari park, Longley, has celebrated its 60th anniversary with a dedicated team of 50 people. The park has undergone significant upgrades to its enclosure, including upgrades to the places where giraffes and lions sleep and increased freedom for the animals. The local authority that initially granted planning permission for the enclosure was unaware that the fencing was for big cats, causing many public concerns.
