A woman who wishes to have a cat as a companion to her husband, who is now on Social Security and is home with her, has been unable to provide her with any companionship due to her disability. She believes that she could take care of the cat with advances in pet supply technology and could take it home with ease. Her husband, however, refuses to allow this, citing that he has supported all his hobbies and activities with no complaint. She argues that as she is home full-time, she can completely take over the cat completely and provide complete care. However, pet therapy is a real benefit, and she grew up with the love of cat ownership. The author suggests that being alone in the house for extended periods isn't good for mental health or physical health.
