The Season 2 finale of CBS' Watson, which ended as a series finale, saw Watson and Sherlock's fates intertwined one last time in the final episode. Watson was headed to Baltimore for surgery for the glioblastoma that had been causing Watson's Sherlock Holmes visions all season. Holmes was eventually admitted to the Holmes Clinic in Pittsburgh, where Watson returned to treat his friend. The finale ended with Watson in the OR with a vision of him and Mary living at 221B Baker Street in London. The show's creator/executive producer, Craig Sweeny, stated that the finale was written as a season finale and that he did not know if the show was coming back or not. He also provided an explanation for the Baker Street flashforward.
