Antisemitism 'allowed to come into the open' says Bondi victim's daughter

Sheina Gutnick, daughter of a Bondi Beach attack victim, was the first witness testifying before Australia's royal commission into antisemitism, set up in response to a shooting at a Hanukkah event in December that killed 15 people. Gutnick stated that she felt like antisemitic comments were socially acceptable in public discourse. The commission, overseen by former High Court judge Virginia Bell, has issued 14 recommendations including prioritisation of gun reforms and extending policing arrangements for Jewish high holy days to other Jewish events.
