The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has identified 34 California airports at risk of collision or confusion. The list includes international airports in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and San Diego, along with smaller airports. These airports are identified as "airport surface hot spots" to ensure increased attention by pilots and avoid confusion. Issues such as planes taxiing into the wrong taxiway, short distances between parallel runways, or pilots navigating taxiways with heavy vehicle traffic. This comes after the FAA implemented a rule change at airports based on safety concerns at a California airport.
