OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has apologised to a Canadian community following a deadly school shooting in February, which resulted in nine deaths and injuries. The company had suspended a ChatGPT account belonging to the alleged perpetrator last June after monitoring systems detected scenarios involving the use of firearms in her conversations. However, the company did not immediately alert authorities about this incident. In a statement, Altman expressed deep regret for not alerting authorities about the perpetrator's interactions with the company's chatbot. He pledged to work with all levels of government to prevent similar incidents in the future.
