The average price for a gallon of diesel in California has reached an all-time high of $7.45 a gallon, according to AAA. This comes as President Donald Trump's promise to cut inflation during his second term is on the rise. Diesel prices are expected to rise during the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, which is expected to significantly increase. The pre-Iran war record-high average for diesel was set on June 18, 2022. However, tax, refinery closures, and strict regulations for cleaner-burning gas also contribute to California's high fuel prices.
