Pro football returns to Columbus for Aviators home debut

The United Football League (UFL), a merger of the XFL and United States Football League, has returned to Columbus for its first outdoor pro football game in 34 years. The Aviators, named after Ohio's flight history, will play games at Historic Crew Stadium in 2026. The league's unique rules include 4-point field goals over 60 yards and banning the Tush Push. Nearly 15,000 spectators attended the inaugural home game, which saw some excitement and excitement. Despite losing the home opener 44-26, the Aviator's record stands at 0-2. The team's concessions were limited to nachos, pretzels, hot dogs, candy and pizza.
