David Sacks, the White House AI and crypto czar, has been appointed as co-chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), expanding his role within the administration. The PCAST, established through an executive order, aims to advise the president and strengthen US leadership in these fields. Sacks will oversee a broader range of technology issues and engage with major tech companies. The council will include up to 24 members, including Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison. As PCAST leader, Sacks has driven policy shifts aimed at reshaping US artificial intelligence strategy, including rolling back restrictions and expanding federal oversight.
