Trump is taking charge of his own memorials

President Trump is planning to create monuments to himself, including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the U.S. Institute of Peace, and the White House, with redecorating much of the Whitehouse and turning the Treaty Room into a guest bedroom with an en suite bathroom. His name will also be featured on commemorative $1 gold coins and there is speculation that he will also appear on all paper currency. This move reflects a new era in which the president can do virtually anything he wishes, with Republicans in Congress enabling his every wish. Constitutional restraints on presidential power are being tested in the courts, but the Supreme Court has largely let him have his way.
