The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chair, Brendan Carr, has threatened to revoke licenses for broadcasters that are running hoaxes and news distortions, or "fake news", as part of a broader threat about how broadcasters are covering the Iraq War. The law requires broadcasters to operate in the public interest and they will lose their licenses if they do not. The FCC does not license TV networks such as CBS, NBC, ABC or Fox. This comes after President Trump endorsed the threat from the White House, praising Carr for his handling of the situation. The show will also feature a discussion with journalist Gary Craig, author of The Prison Guard's Daughter and retired public safety and criminal justice reporter for the Democrat and Chronicle.
