Clearwater Police officer recognized for saving girl and woman 10 weeks apart

The Clearwater Police Department has awarded Officer Andrew Billups the Outstanding Police Officer of the Year Award for his heroic actions, which occurred just weeks apart. Billups saved an eight-year-old girl who was nonverbal and on the autism spectrum, and saved a woman who was suicidal. The Rotary Club of Clearwater honored Billups during a luncheon. He credits his training for his actions and is taking the community's support to continue his heroic example.
