Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor and five other US service members were killed in a drone strike in Kuwait, killing them just days before they could return home to Minnesota. The members of the Army Reserve worked in logistics and kept troops supplied with food and equipment. They died just one day after the US and Israel launched its military campaign against Iran, which led to Iran launching missiles and drones against Israel and several Gulf Arab states. The dead soldiers were identified by the Pentagon and included Capt. Cody Khork from Florida, Sgt. Noah Tietjens from Nebraska, and Sgt. Declan Coady from West Des Moines, who was posthumously promoted from specialist. All were assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command.
