NJT CEO confirms FIFA-related Penn Station closures of NJ Transit
Published on April 10, 2026.
New Jersey Transit CEO, Kris Kolluri, confirmed that Penn Station will temporarily close to non-World Cup ticketholders for four hours before each game, a temporary diversion brought on by increased security measures for the FIFA World Cup in New Jersey. The closures are due to the high-security nature of the event, which could involve many heads of state and heavy transit usage. The cost of the train ticket for these games is unclear, but Kollur pledged that those who aren't going will not pay for it. The full plan will be announced later this month.
