Insurance Scare That Impacted 8 Chicagoland Hospitals Resolved

The eight Chicagoland hospitals that were threatened by Blue Cross Blue Shield Illinois (BCB) will remain in network, despite a previous cancellation notice. The hospitals are owned by California-based Prime Healthcare, which purchased the former Ascension hospitals in 2025. Despite this, Prime Healthcare remains contracted with all major health plans in Illinois and will not change patient access.
