The New York Times has revealed that disgraced union leader Cesar Chavez raped girls and women while living as a king in California. The allegations have surfaced over 30 years since Chavez died, more than a decade after his death. Two women, two of whom were children, have detailed detailed accounts of when Chavez began sexually abusing them. Ana Murguia claimed the abuse started when she was just 13, while Debra Rojas said she was first assaulted at 12 and later raped at 15. The same office where the women alleged to have been sexually abused by Chavez has been preserved and can be seen in the monument’s exhibit hall. The claims are supported by interviews, documents, and people they confided in over the years.
