U.S. stock index futures rose after the U.S., Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire, sending crude prices down on expectations that energy supplies from the Middle East could resume. The rally was seen across global asset classes, with equity indexes in major Asian and European markets rising by between 4-5%. The dollar also fell 1% against the Japanese yen. Short-term Treasury bond yields slipped, suggesting investors expect the Federal Reserve to maintain control of borrowing costs this year. The Dow E-minis were up 1,083 points, or 2.31%, and S&P 500 E-figures were up 168.5 points. The Russell 2000 Index also jumped 3.4%, while contracts tracking the CBOE Volatility Index slid 4.8 points to over-a-night low.
