Brian Grindrod, a social studies teacher at Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven, Connecticut, has been awarded the Award for Excellence in Social Studies Education (Grades 9-12) by the Connecticut Council for Social Studies. This recognition highlights Grindrod's commitment to effective instruction and his leadership in fostering student advocacy. His teaching philosophy is based on project-based learning (PBL), which allows students to engage directly with democracy through authentic, real-world challenges. Additionally, Grindrod has been named a Civic Virtue Fellow by the National Constitution Center and is a member of the NHPS Leadership Pipeline.
