Bruce Cassidy, the longest-tenured coach in Knights history, was fired with eight games left in the season after leading the team to their only Stanley Cup championship in 2023. He was replaced by John Tortorella, who went 7-0-1 in the final eight games and led the Knights to their fifth division title in nine years. Cassidy was a guest analyst on TNT's playoff coverage. He expressed disappointment that he was not able to finish the season with the team. The Knights and Utah Mammoth are tied 2-2 heading into Game 5 of their first-round series.
