South Elgin resident David Luplow Jr. has been awarded the 'Kindness' award from national group Chaz Ebert, a national program created by Ebert to recognize individuals who show exemplary forgiveness, empathy, compassion and kindness. Luplowe, who has Down syndrome, will receive the award at a ceremony on April 4 at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago/Water Tower Place. The award celebrates actions that go far beyond being courteous, such as saving his earnings for the Toys for Tots drive two years ago and inspiring others to donate. The recipients are from San Diego, California; Ypsilanti, Michigan; and Riverside, Illinois.
