George Scoggin, a 59-year-old man, is accused of fatally shooting Jimmy Sparks at his Love County home in 2024. Six prosecution witnesses testified about the incident, which occurred at the time of the fatal shooting. The defense claims that Scoggan believed Sparks was stealing from him and that he did not have his glasses on when Sparks arrived. The prosecution successfully appealed the initial "stand your ground" immunity motion filed by Scoggen's attorney, which was overturned by the judge. If convicted, Scoggl faces up to 10 years in prison.
