Apple has removed all payment processing in Russia from operations, meaning it is no longer possible for residents to make app purchases or renew subscriptions. This includes subscriptions to Apple services like iCloud+ and Apple TV. The move may be a precautionary move after Apple accidentally inadvertently breached sanctions against the country. Payment processing will cease as of April 1, 2026. The company also stated that new purchases, including in-app purchases and subscription renewals, can continue as long as funds are available. It is unclear whether Russian customers will be able to continue adding data to their accounts. The primary motivation for the change appears to be a response to a new government order.
