Dr. John Cumming is expected to be appointed as the next CEO of Hennepin Healthcare, following the resignation of David Hough, a fellow co-administrator, Dr. J. Kevin Croston. This comes at a critical time for the health care system, which is asking for an expansion and replacement of an existing Hennenepin County sales tax to help subsidize its operations. Cumming, a former trauma surgeon who served as interim CEO at Hennetin Healthcare in 2019 and 2020, will start work on Friday.
