Lee Zeldin, a former Congressman from Long Island, may be tapped by President Donald Trump to serve as the next Attorney General of New York. This comes after Bondi was reportedly fired due to dissatisfaction with her handling of the Epstein files. In 2025, the Senate confirmed former Rep. Lee Zelderin as administrator of the Environmental Agency, confirming him in a vote of 56 to 42, with two not voting. He has been a longtime supporter of Trump and has served in the U.S. Army as military intelligence officer, prosecutor, and military magistrate. His political ties with Trump have deepened.
